The Dr Martens Jiffy Infant is an engineer calf boot which uses a soft patent leather upper to give a traditional and smart appearance. This boot is, as all Dr Martens products are, Goodyear weltedThe Goodyear welt construction method is a machine based process named after Charles Goodyear Jr., the inventor of the process, typically found on formal dress shoes. The welt (a strip of leather or rubber that runs along the outsole) is sewn to the upper and is then cemented to the welt. Because of the complicated, multi-part design, the shoe can be re-soled many times extending their life exponentially.. This means that the sole and upper are sewn then heat pressed together which makes the boot far more durable than if they'd simply been glued together. The air cushioned sole gives a really supportive and comfortable feel.
